Short backcountry winter trip to Kuznetsk Alatau

There is an area in Southern Siberia accessible for backcountry and ski touring during the winter and hiking in the summer time. Heights are about 1500-2000 meters, terrain is hilly and forestry. There is lot of snow that's why it's perfect spot for winter activities. Powder is best for freeride and backcountry, and it's fun to ride down amongs the trees. We did few ascents up nearest slope and went down on skis.

Unfortunately it was difficult to slide down due to deep powder snow, and we went for short ski tour trip along main trail.

Weather was warm enough with temperatures of -5..-15 celsius.
